Horse and humans have an ancient relationship. Asian nomads probably domesticated the first horses some 4000 years ago and the animals remained essential to many human societies until the advent of the engine. Horses still hold a place of honor in many cultures often linked to heroic exploits in war. There is only one domestic horse but around 400 different breeds that specialize in every thing from pulling wagons to racing. All horses are grazers. Horses classified as-Kingdom-Animalia, Phylum-Chordata, Class-Mammalia, Order-Perissodactyla, Family-Equidae, Genus-Equus, Species-Eferus. The horses general form is characteristic of an animal of speed-the long leg bones pivot of fully leg joints the limbs are levered to muscle masses in such a way to provide the most energy. 
Horses anatomy enables them to make use of speed to escape predators and they have a well developed sense of balance and a strong flight or flight response. A matured male horse is called stallion and female horses called mares carry their young for approximately 11 months and a young horse called a foal. Most domesticated horses begin training under saddle or in harness between the ages of two and four. They reach full adult development by age five and have an average lifespan of between 25 and 30 years. Horses and humans are mostly connected with many activities such as police work,agriculture,entertainment and therapy. Horses were historically used in warfare. 


Horse breeds are loosly divide into three categories based on general temperament spirited. Hot bloods-with speed and endurance. Cold bloods-such as draft horses suitable for slow and heavy work. Warm bloods developed from crosses between hot and cold bloods often focusing on creating breeds for specific riding purposes particularly in Europe. Many products are derived from horses including meat,milk,hide,hair,bone and pharmaceuticals extracted from the urine of pregnant mares, Humans provide domesticated horses with food water and shelter. The horse has occupied a special place in the realm of art. From stone age drawings,tomb sculptures,Leonardodavincy sketches amd horse has inspired artist of all ages and in all part of the world. 


In Tamilnadu horses are the pet animals in many places. Horse race riding moving on some places here. Ooty race is famous in our country. Also in some places horse cart is for use of carrying peoples. In Palani we have to see horse cart for peoples use. Horse running fast as much as the car. But nowadays the population of horses are not increasing. We give respect to this speedy animal.
