Aloe vera
Aloe vera is succulent plant species of the genus Aloe. Scientific name Aloe vera. It grows wild in tropical regions around the world and is cultivated for agricultural and medicinal uses. Also used for decorative purposes and grows successfully indoors as a potted plant. The leaves are thick and fleshy green. The flowers are produced in summer on a spike up to 90 cm tall each flower being pendulous. The natural range of aloe vera is unclear as the species has been widely cultivated throughout the world. Aloe vera is widely grown as ornamental plant. The species is popular with modern gardeners as a medicinal plant for its interesting flowers. In pots the species requires well drained. There is large scale agricultural production of aloe vera in Australia, Bangladesh, Cuba, China, Mexico and South Africa, India and Jamica along with USA to supply the cosmetics industry. Aloe vera is mostly in beauty products. The aloe vera plant is about one or two feet tall with prickly and bitter leaves which act as a defence to keep animals and insects from feeding on this plant. The leaves hold extremely bitter and known all over the world for its unbelievable healing properties. This translucent gel is made of around 96% water, some organic and inorganic compound, protein, amino acids and vitamin A,B,C and E. Ayurveda refers to aloe vera as the miracle herb that can be used for treatments.
