Nilgiri Mountains Nilgiri mountains are situated in West Ghats. 24 mountains cotained in Nilgiris. The highest peak of these mountain range is Dottabetta height of 2637 metres. Three national parks covered this mountains. One of them is Mudumalai National park covering an area of 321km square and the other is Mukurthy National Park covering an area of 78.5 km square and the third one is Silent Valey National Park. History records gives many results about Nilgiri mountains. After 1800 the hills devoloped by British Government. In 1827 Ooty became the official Sanatorium and the summer capital of Madras Presidency. So Ooty had an longest record in history moments.
