Nilgiri mountains are situated in West Ghats. 24 mountains cotained in Nilgiris. The highest peak of these mountain range is Dottabetta height of 2637 metres. Three national parks covered this mountains. One of them is Mudumalai National park covering an area of 321km square and the other is Mukurthy National Park covering an area of 78.5 km square and the third one is Silent Valey National Park. History records gives many results about Nilgiri mountains. After 1800 the hills devoloped by British Government. In 1827 Ooty became the official Sanatorium and the summer capital of Madras Presidency. So Ooty had an longest record in history moments.

The highest waterfall in Ooty is Kolakumbai waterfall height of 400 ft. The second highest waterfall is Catherine falls height of 250 ft near Kotagiri, Pykarara falls height of 180 ft. Karteri fall near Aruvangadu had the first power station. 

Specialities in Ooty-

Over 2700 species of flowering plants and 160 species of fern and fern allies. 
In July 2005 UNESCO added the Nilgiri Railway as an extension to the World Heritage Site of Darjeeling Himalayan Railway Site then became known as Mountain Railways. 
Botanical Garden and boat house are the entertainment places for peoples.Boat house also there. 
Coonoor Sims Park is also a beautiful view. Here we see Special veterenary hospital .
Kallar fruit garden is another special place for ever we have to see. 
Annamalai Murugan temple is an important one for devotees to pray god Murugan.
