Valparai was one of the hill station situated near Pollachi which has been the district of Coimbatore. Anamalai hills range of western ghats is its location. Also Kerala State border of Malakkappara is the distance of 26 miles from Valparai. Distance of Valparai away from Pollachi about 64 kilo meter, Udumalaipettai from 80 kilo meters, Coimbatore from 110 kilo meters also 110 kilo meters from Palakkad. This hill station located above 3500 feet sea level within Anamalai mountains. It includes Indira Gandhi Sanctuary as area of 958 square kilo meters. It has known of Mountain of Elephants. It has greenery lands, beautiful roads, wild life, dams, lakes, waterfalls, reservoirs. Also tiger reserve there with variety of animals living such as tiger, leopard, common langur, elephant, deer and more. In Pollachi to Valparai we have to see about 40 hair pin bends.Exiting travel there.


Many dams situated around Valparai. Sholaiyar dam situated near Valparai. Aliar dam away from 38 kilo meter also Kadambarai project for multi planing. Hydro electric power plants there. One of the most beatiful Athirappalli water falls away the distance of about 75 kilo meter from Valparai. Monkey falls gathered tourists for this place. Also Vazhachal water falls and Charpa falls are situated there. Lower Neerar Dam and Upper Neerar Dam are located beyond Kadambarai. Also power house of Menonpalli there. The water goes through Prambikkulam Dam and then this water brought back to Tamilnadu via tunnel as Contour Canal which ends Upper Aliar Dam. Valparai mostly depends upon tea and coffee estates. People living here working with this estates. The temperature range of Valparai is 25 centigrade in  summer and 15 degree centigrade in winter. So chill climate suitable for tea and coffee plants. Receives highest rainfall during monsoons.Also Tamilnadu government chinchona estate and factory located here. 


Valparai have population of about 70000 as literacy of 78 percent there. Also Akkamalai grass lands for its beauty nature for location. Another tourist part here at Valparai is Balaji Temple for worship god. It is situated 10 kilo meters away from Valparai. Managed by tea estate group. Birds sound, water fall view are the attractions for worship Balaji. So it is a thrilling journey to Valparai. Exciting moments and enjoying events to all.
